About
We built this because
we lived it.
African freelancers are among the most talented workers in the global economy — and among the most penalised for it. When a client in New York pays $1,000, the freelancer in Yaoundé might receive $700 after platform fees, SWIFT charges, and opaque FX spreads. That 30% gap is not a market reality. It is an infrastructure failure.
GigMoPay was started to close that gap. We give every African freelancer a USD, EUR, and GBP virtual account — so clients pay like they would pay anyone in the world — and we cash out to mobile money or local bank at the mid-market rate, in minutes, not days.
We started in Cameroon, where mobile money is how the economy moves. We are expanding to Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, and Nigeria. The goal is simple: talent in Africa should earn what it is worth, in full.
Mission
"GigMoPay exists so that talent in Africa earns what it's worth."
Borderless payments for African freelancers. USD, EUR, GBP in. Mobile money or bank out. Mid-market rate. No hidden spreads.
How we work
Builder-first
We ship fast, cut scope ruthlessly, and measure everything. Everyone here has shipped real products.
African by design
We build for Cameroon, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, and Nigeria first. The product works for our users because we are our users.
Transparent by default
Salaries, equity, and company metrics are shared with the whole team. No hidden spreads — in rates or in information.
Async and distributed
We work across time zones. Written communication is a skill we invest in. Meetings have an agenda or they don't happen.
Small team. Big scope.
We are a focused, fully-distributed team spread across the continent. Everyone owns their domain end-to-end. We are growing — see our open roles.
